Yogyakarta, 11th November 2025 – The Graduate School of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), with the Leadership and Policy Innovation Master’s and Doctoral Program (MDKIK), together with the Alumni Association of the same program (Kapimgama), held the “Leadership Day 2025” with the theme “Collaborative and Innovative Leadership toward Indonesia Emas 2045.” The event, held at the UGM Innovation and Creativity Building (GIK), reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to nurturing future leadership models that are resilient, adaptive, and collaborative.
In his opening remarks, Kapimgama Chairperson Major General (Ret.) Hassanudin emphasized that today’s leaders are required to manage intelligently and also to “turn uncertainty into opportunity.” Meanwhile, UGM Vice Rector for Education and Teaching, Prof. Wening Udasmoro, highlighted the importance of empathy, inclusivity, and cross-disciplinary collaboration to address the challenges of digital transformation, environmental sustainability, and rapid social change. “Leadership is not merely a position, but a movement for real change,” she said.
Leadership Day 2025 presented a series of sessions designed to strengthen leadership concepts and practices, including keynote sessions on “Interdisciplinary Leadership,” “Digital Leadership,” and “Transformational Leadership.” Thematic talk shows such as “Women and Strategic Leadership” and “Youth Leadership: Empowering the Next Generation” encouraged dialogue across generations and genders. Creative and networking sessions further underscored that leadership also involves building communities and fostering creativity within organizations.
This event, for the Graduate School, was not merely an academic formality, but a strategic platform to cultivate religious leadership perspectives that integrate innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and a forward-looking mindset. With the tagline “Collaborative and Innovative Leadership toward Indonesia Emas 2045,” UGM’s Graduate School emphasized that future leaders must be technically competent and also socially conscious, collectively responsible, and highly adaptive to global changes. “We hope that Leadership Day 2025 becomes a momentum for UGM to strengthen leadership values that uphold progress, humanity, and sustainability,” said the Dean of the Graduate School of UGM.
The Leadership Day 2025, the Graduate School will reaffirm its role as both an intellectual and practical driver in shaping national leadership. The forum is expected to generate ideas, networks, and concrete actions applicable to both public and private institutions, while reinforcing Indonesia’s contribution to achieving the Indonesia Emas 2045 vision.
