PT Adhi Karya (Persero) Tbk participated in the Transport Seminar Series #3 on Thursday, September 5th 2024, at the Auditorium Room, 5th Floor, Graduate School Building, UGM. PT Adhi Karya was represented by Siswanto, General Manager of the Railways Department, and Hardjita, Manager of Operations in the Railways Department, as speakers at the seminar with the theme “Innovation and Technology Transfer and Rail Human Resources Readiness.”
The Railways Department of PT Adhi Karya is responsible for railway infrastructure services, including tracks, operational facilities, stations, and depots. Currently, PT Adhi Karya has expanded into the Philippines to work on projects such as LRT. This seminar focused on construction technology. In his presentation, Siswanto explained the effectiveness of LRT in reducing traffic congestion in Jakarta, noting that the capacity of 177 cars can be transported with only half a LRT train. This is a significant figure considering that traffic congestion losses in Jakarta, according to the Ministry of Finance, reach 65 trillion rupiahs per year.
During the seminar, Siswanto introduced the U-Shaped Girder installation used on the Jabodebek LRT line. This girder is the first of its kind in Indonesia and the longest in Asia. “The use of the U-Shaped Girder foundation is more optimal given Jakarta’s many underground buildings, and its installation is faster compared to other types of girders. Another advantage is that the U-Shaped Girder can reduce noise pollution,” said Siswanto.
In the following presentation, Hardjita discussed the installation of an earthquake detection technology called the Seismic Detection Alert System (SDAS). This system is installed along the LRT line; if a low-magnitude earthquake occurs, it will instruct the train to stop at the next station, while a high-magnitude earthquake will halt the train immediately. According to Hardjita, the latest signaling system for trains, also the first in Indonesia, has been implemented on the LRT, known as Moving Block.
In addition to inviting PT Adhi Karya, this transport seminar also featured speakers from the Directorate General of Railways, PT INKA, PT LEN, and MASKA (Indonesian Railway Society). The session was moderated by Khrisna Hamzah, Secretary of MASKA, and included Ir. Fauzun, Ph.D., an academic from UGM, as a discussant.
The seminar attracted a diverse audience, including students, academics, and industry professionals, all eager to learn about the latest advancements in transport technology. The discussions fostered a collaborative and innovative environment, crucial for the future of sustainable transportation in Indonesia.
