The Tourism Master Program has just held a workshop discussing the evaluation of the 2023 and 2024 curriculum and the follow-up to the adjustment of curriculum changes. This activity took place on February 26th 2025 at R. Tulip 1, Artotel Suites Bianti, Jl Urip Sumoharjo No. 37 Yogyakarta.

As stated in the Regulation of the Minister of Education and Culture, Research and Technology Number 53 of 2023 concerning Quality Assurance of Higher Education and the Regulation of the Chancellor of Universitas Gadjah Mada Number 23 of 2024 concerning Education, all study programs at UGM simultaneously formulate changes to the SKS in accordance with applicable regulations. This is a serious consideration due to its impact on the workload of lecturers, financing, and all academic activities.

This activity was attended by the Chief of the The Tourism Master Program, lecturers, and academic service managers. This meeting aims to ensure the curriculum remains relevant and effective in preparing students to face the challenges of the tourism industry, which is increasingly influenced by sustainability practices and global trends.

One of the key outcomes of the workshop was the recognition of the need for a more flexible credit system that can accommodate a variety of learning experiences. This flexibility is essential to foster higher inclusive educational environment that can adapt to the needs of diverse students and the demands of the tourism sector.

Furthermore, the workshop highlighted the importance of collaboration among various stakeholders, including government agencies, industry partners, and academic institutions. Building global partnerships is essential to improve the quality of education and ensure that the curriculum remains aligned with international standards and best practices.

In addition to curriculum evaluation, the workshop also discussed the financial implications of the proposed changes. Participants discussed strategies to secure funding to support the implementation of the revised curriculum and improve the overall educational experience for students.
