Yogyakarta (27/09/2024) – In commemoration of its 41st anniversary, the Graduate School of Universitas Gadjah Mada (SPs UGM) successfully hosted the 2024 Mixed Plastic Volleyball Tournament. The tournament reached its peak on Friday, September 27th 2024, with an enthusiastic final match. This event not only served as a sports competition but also as a moment of togetherness and sportsmanship for the entire SPs UGM academic community.
The tournament began in the morning at the SPs UGM volleyball court, and kicked off at 7:30 AM. Spectators and participants filled the area with high spirits, supporting the intense matches between six teams with diverse lineups. In the semifinals, Team 4, consisting of Rudi E.P., Dr. Widyanto, Purgiyanto, Joko, Farhan, Sri Suharjo, Widiarsa, Intan, Asti R., Rintis W., and Arfikah, faced Team 6, which was strengthened by Junianto, Susanto, Harna S., Agus W., Latif N., Ramang N., Surono SKKK, Nissa, Diana, Nurvita, and Indri Astuti.
After a thrilling semifinal match, Team 6 secured a spot in the final and faced Team 5, which was composed of Mardiyana, Sunarko, Waljianto, Nuryono, Catur Agus, Ulin Nuha, Satiman, Arif, Umi Sugyanti, Mutia, and Denik S. Meanwhile, Team 4 competed against Team 3 in the battle for third place. Team 3 included Faisal Arifin, Suryanto, Samroni, Priyatna, Teguh, Afit, Ami P., Indah, Lailatul M., Siti Muyasaroh, and Meri Kristanti.
This tournament not only showcased fierce competition but also served as a platform to strengthen relationships between staff and students. The event reflected the spirit of togetherness in celebrating the 41st anniversary, with the hope of creating lasting memories for all participants.
In the end, Team 6 emerged as the tournament champion, followed by Team 5 as the runner-up, and Team 4 securing third place. The victories marked the highlight of a successful tournament, fostering a spirit of sportsmanship, camaraderie, and unity within the SPs UGM community.
The 41st anniversary celebration of SPs UGM is expected to pave the way for more energetic activities in the future while fostering a sense of pride and unity among the UGM academic community.
