On August 30th 2024, the Graduate School of Gadjah Mada University (SPs UGM) held a monitoring and evaluation session for the allocation of research grant funds to its faculty members. This event took place in the meeting room on the second floor of the SPs UGM building. This evaluation follows a previous monitoring session aimed at ensuring the effective use of research funds.
The session was attended by three reviewers: Dr. techn. Khabib Mustofa, S.Si., M.Kom, who serves as the Vice Dean for Human Resources, Finance, and Assets; Dr. Wahyu Supartono; and Dr. Dini Wahyu Kartika Sari, S.Psi., M.Si., who possesses valuable expertise and insights in assessing the progress and impact of research projects funded by SPs UGM grants. The evaluation focused on four main aspects: the outcomes produced, fund absorption, adherence to timelines, and encountered challenges.
“Overall, all the faculty members have made progress with their grants, but the outcomes need more time. We hope there will be further monitoring and evaluation to ensure that the outcomes meet the targets and fund absorption is effective,” said Dr. Wahyu.
The research topics addressed in this session included poverty and poverty alleviation; digital transformation; food security; and religion and mental health. During the evaluation, each faculty member presented the progress of their research, and the reviewers provided constructive feedback.
In addition to evaluating ongoing projects, the session aimed to inspire new research initiatives aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The reviewers encouraged the faculty to explore funding opportunities that support research focusing on education and increasing awareness of environmental issues. Research culture fostering that prioritizes sustainability, SPs UGM aims to contribute to a fairer and more resilient future.
As SPs UGM moves forward, integrating SDGs into research practices will be a priority. The university recognizes that education plays a crucial role in shaping future leaders who are prepared to address environmental and social issues. By cultivating a research environment that values equality, sustainability, and collaboration, SPs UGM aims to make a significant contribution to the global agenda for sustainable development.
