SPs Enliven the Excitement of the Opening of UGM’s 15th Lustrum

On Friday (12/7), the entire community of the Graduate School participated in the festive opening of Universitas Gadjah Mada 15th Lustrum. The theme is “Strengthening Nationalism and Building Civilization”. The event was held at the Balairung UGM Hall, the event was enlivened with a group exercise and traditional games competition.

“We must ignite the spirit of nationalism together; Indonesia will progress and UGM will safeguard Indonesia’s progress. In the name of Allah, with this, the series of activities for the 75th anniversary and 15th lustrum are officially opened,” concluded Prof. Ova Emilia, Ph.D., the Rector of Universitas Gadjah Mada, in her opening remarks.

The ceremony commenced with enthusiastic applause as two groups of palace warriors, representing the East and West, symbolically carried puzzle pieces of the 15th Lustrum logo.

Following this, traditional games competitions, including sack race and clog race, continued. SPs UGM also sent representatives to join other faculties and units in enlivening the competitions.

The opening of UGM’s 15th Lustrum is more than just a celebration; it holds significant meaning. Strengthening partnerships and expanding social networks are among the objectives of this event. Moreover, through this event, UGM supports cultural preservation and healthy living.
