Yogyakarta – The Graduate School of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) held recitation and iftar activities on Saturday, March 8th 2025 in the campus environment. This event aims to strengthen the relationship and increase the spirituality of the academic community in welcoming the month of Ramadan.

The activity began at 17.00 WIB with the recitation of tilawah and saritilawah performed by Yeti Susilowati and Khoirul Mujazanah. A solemn atmosphere enveloped the room as the holy verses of the Qur’an were chanted, adding blessings to the event.

As the core of the event, Dr. Duddy Roesmara Donna, SE, M.Si. delivered a meaningful tausiyah. In his lecture, he raised one of them about “Bakhir and Sukh” which is a message for the importance of maintaining a balance between not being wasteful (redundant) but also not too stingy, especially in the month of Ramadan which is full of blessings. He also spoke about being pious according to one’s ability, emphasizing the importance of balance in life, especially in Ramadan. In addition, he also emphasized that Ramadan is the right time to increase social awareness through charity, as a form of gratitude for the sustenance received.

The event continued with maghrib prayer in congregation, after the lecture session, which further strengthened the togetherness and spiritual value among the participants. After the prayer, the audience enjoyed the iftar together in an atmosphere of intimacy and togetherness. Hospitality is a moment that strengthens the relationship between participants from various backgrounds at the UGM Graduate School.

This activity is expected to be a reminder for all participants to always maintain balance in life, and strengthen the sense of social care during Ramadan and beyond. With the spirit of togetherness and sincerity, it is hoped that this Ramadan will bring blessings to the entire academic community of the UGM Graduate School.
