The Performing Arts and Fine Arts Master Program (PSPSR) at the Graduate School of Gadjah Mada University held the “Gladhi Nalar” activity which consists of a series of events, namely collaborative seminars, scientific discussions and study visits. 2024 is the fourth year of implementation of the “Gladhi Nalar” activity which was held on 30th October – 1st November 2024 and was attended by PSPSR Masters and Doctoral students.
Collaboration seminar held on October 30th 2024 in collaboration with the Indonesian Institute of Arts and Culture (ISBI) Bandung. This activity presented two PSPSR master’s and doctoral student presenters, namely Heni Siswantari who discussed a presentation entitled “Women in Islamic Performing Arts: A Dialogue Full of Koma” and Agim Gunawan with a presentation entitled “Pepe-Pepeka ri Makka: A Risk Performance”.
Furthermore, two students from ISBI Bandung were also enthusiastic about presenting their research findings. After the presentation, the discussion was guided by a moderator who also involved an expert reader from each university. This interactive format aims to encourage rich exchange of ideas and constructive criticism.
The “Gladhi Nalar” activity is designed to provide a platform for students to demonstrate competence in a wider academic environment. By presenting ideas openly, students can receive valuable feedback that will help refine their research methodology. The ability to articulate arguments and respond to criticism is fundamental to developing strong research skills.
Furthermore, this seminar serves as an important step in preparing students for writing their final assignment. The skills gained from this experience will not only benefit academic achievement but also equip students for future professional challenges. The emphasis on competency testing ensures that students are ready to make meaningful contributions, especially in the arts.
