
(23/1) The Graduate School of Universitas Gadjah Mada (SPs UGM) once again celebrates an outstanding graduate. Prisca Kiki Wulandari, a student from the Doctoral Program in National Resilience Science, she is the first female graduate to complete the program. She also has been recognized as the youngest doctoral graduate of the January 2025 graduation period, achieving this milestone at the age of 33 years, 8 months, and 7 days.
Kiki, as she is affectionately called, has demonstrated remarkable academic achievements by successfully publishing her research article in a reputable international journal indexed in Scopus Q1. Her paper, titled “Preserving and Managing Chinese Settlement Heritage Tourism in Lasem, Indonesia,” was published in the Geojournal of Tourism and Geosites (https://gtg.webhost.uoradea.ro/2024_3_vol_55.html). This accomplishment further underscores her dedication to academia and research.
Her success would not have been possible without the guidance and mentorship of her supervisors, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Baiquni, M.A., and Dr. Ahmad Zubaidi, M.Si., as well as the full support from the Chief of the Doctoral Program in National Resilience Science, Prof. Dr. Armaidy Armawi, M.Si.
Additionally, the unwavering support and prayers from her family, especially her husband, Dr. Daya Negri Wijaya, M.A., played a crucial role in motivating Kiki to complete her doctoral studies. The encouragement and moral support from her loved ones significantly contributed to her journey toward earning a doctoral degree.
Kiki’s achievement serves as an inspiration for many women in academia to continue striving for excellence and breaking barriers in their respective fields. Her dedication and accomplishments, has proven that women play a crucial role in academia, research, and strategic policymaking at both national and global levels.
