The Population Master Program at the Graduate School of Universitas Gadjah Mada carried out the Field Study Program (KKL), a regular activity held every odd semester. This semester, the KKL will take place in Kayen Village, Pacitan Subdistrict, Pacitan Regency, East Java.

Prior to the deployment of students for the field study, lecturers and students visited the Kayen Village Chief Office to conduct a preliminary survey, aimed at verifying data and gaining a deeper understanding of both the village’s regional conditions and the state of the local community. The survey was conducted on October 3rd 2025, and was warmly welcomed by the Village Chief of Kayen, Mr. Setyo Darmoko.

The KKL survey was accompanied by two experienced lecturers, Prof. Dr. Sri Rum Giyarsih, S.Si., M.Si., and Dr. Djaka Marwasta, S.Si., M.Si., who also provided academic preparation to the students during the course leading up to the fieldwork. The survey team was led by Armadi Setyo Pambudi, and involved in-depth discussions on the design and planning of KKL activities that will be carried out by students in Kayen Village.

Mr. Setyo Darmoko gave insights and direction regarding the upcoming KKL activities, providing an overview of the socio-cultural and economic conditions of the village, whose residents are predominantly farmers. This survey is expected to serve as a foundation for students to observe, analyze, conduct research, and engage in community service, particularly in the Kayen Village area.
