Magelang (08/12) – The National Resilience Master Program at UGM equipped students of SMK Ma’arif 1 Ngluwar with product branding skills. This activity was attended by 40 tenth-grade students from the Culinary Arts, Accounting, and Fashion Design departments of SMK Ma’arif 1 Ngluwar on Monday, August 12, 2024, in the Accounting Classroom at SMK Ma’arif 1 Ngluwar.
The purpose of this activity is to equip vocational school students with knowledge about branding to enhance the value of a product. The event was conducted as a workshop themed “Increasing Product Value through Branding.” The invited speaker was Muhammad Rofiud Muta’al, a master’s student in Public Administration at Gadjah Mada University (UGM).
During the implementation, students were not only taught the theory of branding but also practical skills in creating a logo for the business ideas they initiated. The students collectively practiced how to create a logo for a product or business to enhance its value and make it easily recognizable to the public. The students who participated in this activity were very enthusiastic about sharing and applying their ideas. Fida, one of the students, expressed that she benefited from the event.
“This activity teaches us how to create a product logo. The activities are fun and can be beneficial for the future, especially for those who want to start their own business and develop it,” she concluded.
This activity is expected to equip students and help prepare the younger generation for future job competition, especially in the business field. This aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) number 4, which is about Quality Education, and SDGs number 9, which focuses on Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure.
This activity is part of the Community Service Program (PKM) of the National Resilience Study Program at UGM for 2024, held in Pakunden Village, Ngluwar District, and SMK Ma’arif 1 Ngluwar, Magelang Regency.
