MPL Webinar: Dissemination of Knowledge and Practices on Restorative Improvement Towards Environmental Sustainability

Yogyakarta (06/02), the Environmental Management Interest (MPL) of the Graduate School of Gadjah Mada University held a webinar activity with the theme the urgency of skills to maintain environmental sustainability. This activity was carried out online and was attended by lecturers and students.

The big theme of the webinar is known as “RISE-UP” which means Restorative and Improvement Sustainable Environment Up-Skilling. This theme provides targeted opportunities for participants attending to understand the potential and application of environmental restoration strategies, integrated sustainability concepts, methods for measuring the impact of restoration on the environment, as well as practical skills that support the development of sustainable solutions.

The resource was Dr. Langgeng Wahyu Santosa, M.Si., Chief of Environmental Management Interests who presented the topic regarding the urgency of environmental sustainability as a basis for sustainable practices. In this session the speakers discussed current issues related to the environment and the importance of restorative action to maintain environmental sustainability.

The second resource person was Dr. Krisdyatmoko, S.Sos., M.Sc.. lecturer at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences UGM. Topics discussed were Corporate Social Innovation (CSI) and sustainability. The concept of corporate social innovation is based on community empowerment and the manifestation of practices in gold PROPER ranking companies in pursuing sustainability.

It is hoped that this activity will increase awareness and understanding of the importance of environmental restoration and sustainability. Furthermore, this activity is also expected to form a professional network for collaboration in the environmental field
