Yogyakarta, August 9th, 2024 – The Graduate School of Universitas Gadjah Mada (SPs UGM) has just completed the first phase of monitoring research grants for faculty in 2024. In connection with the implementation of this monitoring, all research teams involved are expected to prepare progress reports on their research in the form of slides/PPTs, which will be presented on August 15th, 2024.
In these presentations, researchers are required to include several key points. First, they have to demonstrate research outputs, including scientific articles, 3 Minutes Thesis presentations, web news related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and any other outputs if available. This aligns with the SDGs, ensuring that research findings are widely and equitably disseminated.
Second, researchers are asked to identify and explain the various challenges faced during the research process. This is crucial for discussing possible solutions or corrective actions that may be required. By addressing these challenges, the research community can build global partnerships aimed at overcoming obstacles and enhancing collaborative efforts.
Additionally, the presentation should include a report on the use and absorption of research funds. This aspect is essential for accountability concerning the grants provided, ensuring that resources are used effectively and transparently. Emphasizing financial accountability reflects SPs UGM’s commitment to upholding good governance principles in research funding.
This monitoring activity aims to ensure that the research funded through SPs UGM grants is proceeding according to plan, while also evaluating the achievements and challenges faced by researchers. This initiative not only supports researchers but also contributes to the university’s broader goal of promoting high-quality research that aligns with global standards.
The Vice Dean for Academic, Student Affairs, and Cooperation, Dr. Widyanto Dwi Nugroho, S.Hut., M.Agr., stated that monitoring research grants at SPs UGM is a significant step in ensuring impactful faculty research that aligns with global development goals. The upcoming presentations will provide a platform for sharing knowledge, addressing challenges, and building partnerships that will ultimately contribute to the advancement of research and education in Indonesia.
