Yogyakarta, December 15th, 2025 – The Master of Higher Education Management (MMPT) at the Graduate School of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) has recently completed a crucial stage in its efforts to strengthen quality on the international stage. On December 9th–11th, 2025, MMPT underwent a field assessment process organized by ACQUIN (Accreditation, Certification and Quality Assurance Institute), a renowned international accreditation agency from Germany. The implementation of this assessment is part of MMPT’s ongoing commitment to maintaining academic excellence and global-standard quality assurance.
The assessment process involved a panel of experts consisting of 19 ACQUIN auditors. Five of them, including Prof. Frank Reininghaus, Martin Borg, Christopher Bohlens, Robert Raback, and Janine Igl, conducted an on-site visit to review academic facilities and vital infrastructure within UGM. In parallel, assessments were also conducted online, featuring an in-depth evaluation of the curriculum, teaching methodologies, research activities, and institutional governance, all aligned with global best practices. During the visit, the audit team held intensive dialogues with leadership, faculty members, students, and administrative staff to capture a comprehensive view of the academic framework and various quality improvement initiatives implemented by the study program.
Responding to the execution of this major agenda, the Dean of the Graduate School, Prof. Ir. Siti Malkhamah, M.Sc., Ph.D., IPU., ASEAN Eng., along with the representative of the Head of MMPT, Prof. Ir. Paulus Insap Santosa, M.Sc., Ph.D., IPU., emphasized that this process is a form of institutional transparency and accountability. According to Prof. Paulus, this assessment is a strategic step to ensure that MMPT’s vision for advancing education and research remains aligned with international benchmarks. This initiative was also carried out collectively with ten other departments at UGM under the coordination of the University’s Quality Assurance and Reputation Unit. Although the official decision from the ACQUIN Accreditation Commission is expected to be announced in the coming period (scheduled for May 2026), the program management holds high hopes that this process will yield the best results. This international accreditation is expected to serve as a catalyst for MMPT, established since 2011, to expand its global cooperation networks and strengthen the position of its graduates.
MMPT graduates are specifically prepared to hold strategic positions within the higher education sector, including University Managers and Administrators, Policy Analysts and Regulators, Institutional Quality Assurance Managers, as well as Lecturers and Researchers. Through this accreditation process, MMPT hopes that the quality of its graduates will gain broader recognition on both national and international levels.
