e National Security Master and Doctoral Programs at the Graduate School of Universitas Gadjah Mada (SPs UGM) held the Resilience Research Bootcamp: Accelerating Your Thesis & Dissertation Journey on 20th–21st November 2025 at Nava Hotel Tawangmangu, Karanganyar. The event aimed to strengthen students’ academic capacity and monitor the progress of their thesis and dissertation development.
Participants, over the course of two days, engaged in a series of intensive activities, including scientific writing workshops, research progress presentations, academic supervision sessions, and training on applications supporting thesis and dissertation preparation. Prof. Dr. Sri Rum Giyarsih, S.Si., M.Si., served as the main speaker, delivering materials on effective academic writing techniques for theses and dissertations. She also shared strategies for successful publication in reputable international journals, covering journal selection, understanding the review process, and improving research substance to meet global academic standards.
The Chief of the National Security Master and Doctoral Programs, Prof. Dr. Armaidy Armawi, M.Si., emphasized in his opening remarks that this activity is a crucial momentum to enhance the quality of student research. “This Bootcamp is organized not only to monitor research progress but also to create space for dialogue and strengthen student motivation to complete their theses and dissertations with the highest quality,” he stated.
One of the participants, Diasma Swandaru, shared that the Bootcamp provided him with a profound academic and reflective experience. “The calm and historically rich atmosphere enabled us to truly focus on being shaped both academically and mentally, as if undergoing a process of self-strengthening before returning to the field of research,” he said. He added the program also strengthened his motivation and commitment to completing his studies with excellence.
The National Security Master and Doctoral Programs, with this activity, hoped the students could reinforce their methodological foundations, sharpen their research direction, and complete their studies on time with high-quality academic work. The event concluded with the formulation of strategic recommendations for improving research quality and updating the research progress database for Master and Doctoral students.
