| Bioethics is a scientific branch of applied ethics that addresses the problems of living things and their environments. Bioethics has become an absolute necessity in facing the consequences that arise from the rapid development of science and technology in this globalization era. The Bioethics Master Study Program of Universitas Gadjah Mada was held as an effort to fulfill the demands of the Medical Education Act which states that Bioethics education must be carried out as part of a compulsory curriculum in every medical faculty in Indonesia. Bioethics Master Program in UGM was established as one of the flagship programs, expected to give a significant contribution to the society and the nation. The strategy of the transdisciplinary approach in bioethics is expected to encourage productive interactions among various fields of science. |
