Yogyakarta (5/8/2024) – The Graduate School of Universitas Gadjah Mada (SPs UGM) received a visit from the University of Dundee (UoD), Scotland. This visit from UoD marks their first visit to SPs and their second visit to UGM. Prof. Kim Dale and Dr. Graham R. Christie from UoD were delighted to return to Yogyakarta.
The arrival of UoD partners at SPs UGM was welcomed by the Vice Dean of Finance, Assets, and Human Resources, Dr. tech. Khabib Mustofa, S.Si., M.Kom., Expert Staff in the Cooperation Unit. The welcoming parties are also representatives of Program Chairs and Quality Assurance from the Master’s (S2) and Doctoral (S3) programs in Biotechnology, Bioethics Master Program, Biomedical Engineering Master Program, Demography Master Program, and Demography Science of the Graduate School Doctoral Program.
The meeting began with warm greetings from each representative. Dr. tech. Khabib Mustofa, S.Si., M.Kom. provided an overview of SPs, followed by discussions on the continuation of the double degree collaboration with the Biotechnology Master Program. The discussions also covered plans for collaboration with other programs. The discussions were very intense and interesting as both parties agreed to follow up on cooperation plans such as guest lectures, research collaborations, and joint seminars.
After the extensive discussions, we continued with lunch, accompanied by the Dean of SPs, Prof. Ir. Siti Malkhamah, M.Sc., Ph.D. In a more relaxed atmosphere, further discussions on the implementation of the previously discussed collaboration plans were carried out. Prof. Siti Malkhamah expressed her gratitude and enthusiasm for the visit and her great hope for more intensive and beneficial future cooperation for both parties.
Both universities also discussed opportunities for students and staff to participate in exchange programs, internships, and international research collaborations. This is expected to enrich academic and professional experiences and improve the quality of education and research at both institutions.
The collaboration with UoD is welcomed by both parties because it not only aims to increase international partnerships but also to achieve performance targets. This visit is expected to strengthen the relationship between UGM and UoD and open up wider collaboration opportunities in the future.
