Yogyakarta, October 1st 2025 — Mental health is one of the important aspects that has recently become a shared concern. At Gadjah Mada University (UGM), mental health screening has been conducted among students. In line with this, the UGM Graduate School (SPs UGM) has developed a free counseling service for students as part of improving non-academic support and facilities.
This program has been running since 2021, starting during the COVID-19 pandemic, and continues to operate effectively to this day. The counseling service is expected to help students maintain their mental health and improve the balance between academic and personal life.
The psychologist partnered for this program, Kholinjah, M.A., Psychologist, stated that mental health is now a critical issue, especially for Generation Z. The response from Graduate School students has been quite positive. Counseling sessions are available every Thursday, both online and offline, with registration via the following link:

The Dean of the UGM Graduate School, Prof. Ir. Siti Malkhamah, M.Sc., Ph.D., considered this facility as a tangible form of SPs’ concern for its students.
“This service reflects our commitment to student well-being. Mental health is a key factor in academic success,” said Prof. Siti Malkhamah.
Through this program, SPs UGM hopes that all students can optimize the use of these counseling services as part of their efforts to maintain mental well-being and achieve academic success.
