Malang (13/09/2024) – In an effort to strengthen togetherness, the big family of Universitas Gadjah Mada Graduate School (SPs UGM) held a dinner event with the theme “Dean’s Greeting” during a warm recreation in Malang. The event was attended by the entire academic community, staff, and the big family of SPs UGM.
The Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Cooperation, Dr. Widyanto Dwi Nugroho, S.Hut., M.Agr., in his speech, emphasized the importance of maintaining and enhancing togetherness within the SPs UGM environment. “Togetherness is the key to strengthening the sense of family and collaboration among employees. We will become stronger in facing future challenges by maintaining harmony,” he said.
In agreement with this, the Vice Dean for Finance, Assets, and Human Resources, Dr. techn. Khabib Mustofa, S.Si., M.Kom., added that this activity was not just a recreational event but also an effort to preserve culture and existing values. “In this edition of Dean’s Greeting, we invite everyone to gather together in preserving our culture, including the noble local culture such as the Javanese language. This is part of our identity that must be continuously preserved,” he explained.
Enhancing the sense of togetherness, the two vice deans of SPs UGM agreed to hold a quiz with prizes in the form of Javanese language riddles. This activity not only brought fun but also served as a means to foster togetherness while preserving the Javanese language and culture, which is increasingly rare. The quiz was enthusiastically welcomed by all participants, adding excitement and a sense of family.
Dr. Widyanto Dwi Nugroho, S.Hut., M.Agr. closed the event by singing the iconic song “Jogja Istimewa,” written by Daru Jaya Ndarboy, which further enhanced the spirit of togetherness and love for local culture among all the participants. The Dean’s Greeting event in Malang is expected to strengthen the relationships within the SPs UGM family while reinforcing cultural values that play an important role in everyday life.
