The Chief of the Biomedical Engineering Master Program at the Graduate School of UGM, Ir. Rini Dharmatiti, M.Sc., Ph.D., IPM., ASEAN Eng., along with the Program Quality Assurance Chief, Dr. Apt. Adhyatmika, M. Biotech, conducted a return visit to the Engineering Faculty at Dian Nuswantoro University (UDINUS) in Semarang on Monday, April 6th 2026 following up the plans for academic collaboration.
Discussions, during the meeting, focused on potential collaboration opportunities for top undergraduate graduates from the Biomedical Engineering and Electrical Engineering programs at the Engineering Faculty, UDINUS, to continue their studies at the Biomedical Engineering Master Program of UGM Graduate School.
This collaboration is designed to include the following candidates: outstanding undergraduate students from the Engineering Faculty at UDINUS who are interested in biomedical engineering (BME) may be allowed to graduate in their 7th semester. The program enabled them to proceed directly to the Biomedical Engineering Master Program at the Graduate School with aligned undergraduate final projects and master’s theses. This approach will enable students to complete their master’s studies more quickly.
Ensuring continuity and alignment between the undergraduate final project and the master’s thesis, joint supervision will be implemented on UGM and UDINUS.
Dr. Rini, regarding this collaboration plan, stated that UDINUS and UGM share the same goal of producing human resources capable of supporting the nation’s aspiration for the independence of the medical device sector.
UDINUS, at the meeting, was represented by Dr. Ir. Ratih Setyaningrum, MT., IPM., ASEAN Eng., Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and Dr. Ir. Aripin, M.Kom., IPM., ASEAN Eng., Chief of the Undergraduate Biomedical Engineering Program.
This visit is a follow-up to a previous visit by the UDINUS team—Dr. Aripin, Wisnu Adi, and Menik Dwi Kurniati, M.Biotech—to the Biomedical Engineering Master Program on November 13th 2025.
This activity aligns with the implementation of the SDGs: Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being), Goal 4 (Quality Education), and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
