The Master’s and Doctoral Biotechnology Study Program at the Graduate School of Gadjah Mada University (SPs UGM) held an event titled Biotech Student Camp on Tuesday (9/7). This event aimed to support master’s and doctoral students in completing their final projects. Conducted in a hybrid format, the event was attended by more than 40 students.
“We would like to thank the students who attended both online and offline for this annual event of the Biotechnology Study Program. Essentially, this event is about monitoring and supporting each other,” said Dr. Dini Wahyu Kartika Sari, S.Pi., M.Si., The Chief of the Master’s Biotechnology Study Program, in her opening remarks.
Biotech Student Camp, which started last year, has had a positive impact on students. Dini explained that this year saw a significant increase in the number of students who have graduated compared to last year, and the hope is that this event will further encourage students to complete their final projects.
In this event, master’s and doctoral students were separated into different groups. For the master’s program, the event was mainly aimed at active students from the 2022 and 2023 cohorts. Each attending student was asked to present their progress on their thesis or dissertation. Additionally, the event included feedback, suggestions, and discussions.
SPs hopes that through this event, the study program can gather data on the progress of students’ final project completion and design necessary follow-up actions. Through this activity, students are also expected to become more motivated to complete their final projects.
