Academic Collaboration: Socialization and Promotion of the Population Studies Doctoral Program Held at BPS Kota Cirebon

Prof. Dr. Sri Rum Giyarsih, S.Si., M.Si., chief of the Population Studies Doctoral Program at the Graduate School of Universitas Gadjah Mada, conducted a socialization and promotional session for the study program at the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) of Kota Cirebon. The event took place on November 3rd 2025.

This activity is part of an initiative to increase brand awareness of the Population Studies Doctoral Program, which offers academic learning experiences particularly for those engaged in statistics, population studies, and other relevant scientific fields. The event also aimed to introduce opportunities for advanced education in population studies for staff members and to strengthen collaboration of the academic community and government institutions.

Prof. Sri Rum Giyarsih presented the study program profile, curriculum, and registration procedures for prospective students. Participants attending the session also received information on scholarships, academic facilities, and research support available for doctoral students.

The Doctoral Program in Population Studies in socialization activity, hopes that more staff members will be interested in pursuing further studies and contributing to the development of population science, as well as improving the quality of statistical services for the public. The collaboration established between both parties is expected to bring sustainable positive impacts for all involved.
