The Graduate School of Universitas Gadjah Mada (SPs UGM) conducted the 2026 Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) of Regular Research Grants from 6th – 8th July 2026 at the 2nd Floor of Unit 1 Building, SPs UGM. The activity involved 33 principal investigators and reflected the Graduate School’s commitment to overseeing the implementation of its research grant program while encouraging faculty members to continuously develop innovative, high-quality research that generates meaningful societal impact.
Grant recipients, on the three-day program, presented the progress of their ongoing research before a panel of reviewers comprising Prof. Dr. Tri Kuntoro Priyambodo, M.Sc., Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Junun Sartohadi, M.Sc., Dr. apt. Hilda Ismail, M.Si., and Dr. Tri Rini Nuringtyas, S.Si., M.Sc. Drawing upon their respective areas of expertise, the reviewers provided assessments and constructive feedback to ensure that each research project remained aligned with its objectives, targets, and expected outputs.
Each principal investigator, during the monitoring and evaluation sessions, presented a progress report covering the implementation of the research according to the approved proposal timeline, research objectives and methodology, preliminary findings, future work, budget utilization, and the progress of planned research outputs.
The reviewers, in addition to evaluating research progress, also monitored the achievement of the outputs specified in each grant agreement. These outputs include scientific articles published in scholarly journals, news articles published on the official website of the UGM Graduate School, and Three Minute Thesis (3MT) videos. The reviewers provided recommendations and follow-up actions to help each research team complete all required outputs on schedule and contribute to the Graduate School’s Institutional Performance Targets.
Prof. Dr. Ir. Widyanto Dwi Nugroho, S.Hut., M.Agr.Sc., Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Cooperation of the UGM Graduate School, on a separate occasion, stated that one of the primary objectives of the Regular Research Grant Program is supporting the achievement of the Graduate School’s Institutional Performance Targets assigned by Universitas Gadjah Mada. According to him, the grant program provides financial support for faculty research and also serves as a strategic instrument to enhance academic productivity through measurable and high-quality research outputs.
“This monitoring and evaluation process is an important step in ensuring that every research project delivers the expected outputs. By achieving these outputs, the grant program is expected to make a tangible contribution to the Graduate School’s Institutional Performance Targets,” said Widyanto.
Overall, the monitoring and evaluation results indicated that the implementation of the 33 Regular Research Grants has progressed according to the planned timeline. Nevertheless, the reviewers also provided a number of recommendations to each research team to further refine the implementation of their research and optimize the quality of the outputs to be produced.
