Yogyakarta, March 3rd 2026 – The Employee Kinship Forum of the Graduate School (Forsilap SPs) at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) successfully hosted an Islamic Gathering and Iftar on Saturday (Feb 28th 2026). Despite the heavy rain pouring over the campus area, the enthusiasm of the congregation remained high strengthening their bonds. The event, which took place at the UGM Graduate School Building on Jl. Teknika Utara, was attended by various elements of the academic community, ranging from professional staff (tendik) to faculty members.
The leadership of SPs UGM were also present, mingling with the congregation. Among the attendees was the Dean of SPs UGM, Prof. Ir. Siti Malkhamah, M.Sc., Ph.D., accompanied by the Vice Dean for Academic, Student Affairs, and Collaboration, Prof. Dr. Ir. Widyanto Dwi Nugroho, S.Hut., M.Agr., and the Vice Dean for Finance, Assets, and Human Resources, Dr. Techn. Khabib Mustofa, S.Si., M.Kom. Following the agenda, the activity began with the recitation of the Holy Quran and opening remarks. At the main event, the congregation was invited to listen to a sermon delivered by Dr. Mohammad Iqbal Ahnaf, M.A. In his presentation, Dr. Iqbal explored in-depth the virtues of reciting sholawat. The atmosphere of togetherness felt even more serene as the sound of raindrops outside the building accompanied the joint dhikr session led directly by the speaker, providing tranquility and peace for all attendees.
The Chairman of Forsilap, Susanto, S.T., M.Sc., along with the organizing committee, ensured the entire agenda ran smoothly until the time to break the fast. After breaking the fast and performing the Maghrib prayer in congregation, the event concluded with a warm fellowship session. The leadership, lecturers, and professional staff were seen chatting amiably while enjoying the prepared iftar dishes. A variety of traditional Indonesian menus, such as warm meatball soup (bakso), Javanese noodles (bakmi jowo), and pecel rice, served as the perfect complement to conclude that afternoon’s gathering.
