Yogyakarta, October 23rd 2025 – The Graduate School of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) welcomed an academic visit from the Graduate Program of Universitas Jambi (UNJA). The visit was part of a benchmarking agenda and an exploration of strategic collaboration related to graduate program management and the development of double degree programs.
The delegation from UNJA, led by Prof. Dr. Dra. Muazza, M.Si. (Director of the Graduate Program), Prof. Drs. Maison, M.Si., Ph.D. (Vice Director for Academic and Student Affairs), Dedi Irwandi, S.H., M.H. (Chief of General Affairs), along with several academic and administrative staff members, was warmly received by the leadership of UGM Graduate School.
In a cordial and constructive atmosphere, both institutions discussed various strategic topics, including graduate school governance, student admission systems, research management, and innovations in research-based learning.
Prof. Dr. Ir. Widyanto Dwi Nugroho, S.Hut., M.Agr., Vice Dean for Academic, Student Affairs, and Collaboration, shared UGM’s experiences and best practices in academic program development, including by research model, which has become a hallmark of UGM Graduate School in supporting UGM’s vision as a world-class research university.
Meanwhile, Dr. techn. Khabib Mustofa, S.Si., M.Kom., Vice Dean for Finance, Assets, and Human Resources, expressed appreciation for UNJA’s proactive initiative in fostering inter-university collaboration.
“We are very open to partnerships oriented toward enhancing academic and research quality. This kind of collaboration provides an important platform for mutual learning and strengthening networks among higher education institutions,” he stated.
On the other hand, Prof. Muazza emphasized that this visit was part of UNJA’s efforts to prepare for the transformation of its Graduate Program into a more independent and competitive Graduate School.
“We hope that UGM Graduate School can serve as an inspiring learning partner, especially in developing strong governance and a vibrant research atmosphere,” she remarked.
UGM Graduate School, with this visit, reaffirmed its commitment as a strategic partner in advancing graduate education in Indonesia—focusing not only on academic excellence but also on building synergistic networks for the progress of national higher education.
