Yogyakarta, July 16th 2025 — The Graduate School of Universitas Gadjah Mada (SPs UGM) has officially launched a new facility called the SPs Studio, dedicated to produce digital educational content, particularly Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). This facility is expected to serve as a catalyst for young lecturers at SPs to create innovative, interactive teaching materials that can reach broader global audiences.
The SPs Studio is equipped with modern multimedia tools, including high-resolution cameras, professional-grade microphones, and a green screen. These resources are designed to support the production of digital learning materials that are visually engaging and also high academic quality.
Dean of SPs UGM, Prof. Ir. Siti Malkhamah, M.Sc., Ph.D., stated that this facility is a tangible form of institutional support for digital learning transformation. “We encourage our young lecturers to continuously innovate in delivering teaching content. MOOCs are an opportunity to expand the impact of knowledge to wider communities beyond geographical boundaries,” she said.
The establishment of SPs Studio aligns with UGM’s strategic direction in developing open education and lifelong learning. Furthermore, the MOOCs produced can contribute to academic recognition and the promotion of UGM’s scientific reputation at the international level.
The SPs Studio, with a spirit of collaboration and strong support from the SPs management, is expected to become a growth space for young lecturers’ creativity, enhance research-based digital content, and address contemporary challenges through inclusive and quality education.
