SPs (May 26th) — The Graduate School of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) held an international accreditation visit by the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA) for two study programs: the Religion and Cross-Cultural Studies Master Program and the Inter-Religious Studies Doctoral Program. The visitation took place online over three days, from May 20th to 22nd, 2025.
This visit was part of the efforts by both programs to ensure educational quality in accordance with international standards and strengthening the global competitiveness of UGM’s Graduate School in the higher education landscape.
The programs attended participants were the Chief of the Religion and Cross-Cultural Studies Master Program, Dr. Samsul Maarif, M.A., and the Chief of the Inter-Religious Studies Doctoral Program, Zainal Abidin Bagir, M.A., Ph.D., along with quality assurance staff and other supporting personnel.
The UGM Graduate School participants included the Dean, Prof. Ir. Siti Malkhamah, M.Sc., Ph.D.; the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Partnerships, Prof. Dr. Widyanto Dwi Nugroho, S.Hut., M.Agr.; the Vice Dean for Finance, Assets, and Human Resources, Dr. Tech. Khabib Mustofa, M.Kom.; the Quality Assurance Officers, Prof. Dr. Tri Kuntoro Priyambodo, M.Sc. and Dr. Agung Dian Kharisma; as well as the Chief of the Graduate School Office, the Chief of the Graduate School Work Team, and other relevant staff.
The visitation activities included presentations, discussions, and online Q&A sessions between FIBAA assessors and representatives from the study programs and the Graduate School. Over three days, assessors conducted a comprehensive evaluation of the curriculum, program management, quality assurance system, academic support, and graduates outcomes.
The Dean of UGM’s Graduate School emphasized that FIBAA accreditation is a strategic step toward enhancing academic reputation and education quality at the international level.
“We hope that through this accreditation, our study programs will gain global recognition and continue to make meaningful contributions to the advancement of knowledge, especially in the fields of religion and cross-cultural studies,” she stated.
This visitation marks an important moment in reaffirming the Graduate School’s commitment to producing graduates who are academically excellent and sensitive to diversity and global dynamics.
The activity also represents the implementation of SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
