Employee competence is something that must be continuously developed. Strengthening employee competence is essential to meet the challenges of change, in line with the rapid advancement of the times. Competence development can be carried out with formal education and training, self-learning, seminars, and workshops.

The Graduate School of Universitas Gadjah Mada (SPs UGM) is committed to continuously support its staff in developing both technical and non-technical competencies. One of its efforts is organizing the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) Development Workshop, held from 10th to 16th April 2025. In addition to improving the effectiveness and efficiency of administrative service governance, this program also serves as a platform for staff to enhance their competencies in both technical and non-technical areas. The staff were grouped based on their respective work units in this program, such as the academic unit, accreditation unit, finance unit, and others. Through this workshop, staff were encouraged to be proactive and take initiative in improving business processes, with the goal of strengthening systematic thinking and team collaboration skills.

Furthermore, the workshop served as a platform for staff to improve their verbal communication skills, particularly in expressing ideas in formal settings. Each group was given the opportunity to present their work, which was then discussed directly with the SPs UGM leadership team for further feedback and guidance.

SPs UGM hopes that at this workshop, all participating staff will actively enhance their competencies. The institution remains committed to supporting staff development in pursuit of shared organizational goals.
