Gadjah Mada University (UGM) remains committed to transform its business processes, one of which is in the field of research. The current system is not yet fully optimal in managing research data, so it needs an upgrade to meet the needs of its users, including faculty members and academic staff at UGM. This transformation is also an effort to utilize the rapidly developing technology in the field of education and to strengthen global partnerships.
“This year, we are trying to create higher integrated research business process system to make work more comfortable. This development is a mandate from UGM so that we can create digital services that generate benefits,” said the Director of Research, Prof. Dr. Mirwan Ushada, STP. M.App.Life.Sc., in his speech at the 2nd Series of the Workshop on Transforming Integrated Research Management Business Processes, Wednesday (26/02) at Multimedia I Room, UGM Central Office, 3rd Floor, North Wing.
This workshop is aimed at Deans and Vice Deans in charge of Research from all UGM work units. The Graduate School of Gadjah Mada University (SPs UGM) participated in this event, represented by the Chief of the Administration Office as well as faculty and staff from the Research and Publication Unit.
On another occasion, the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Cooperation at SPs UGM, Prof. Dr. Widyanto Dwi Nugroho, S.Hut., M.Agr., said, “This year, for the first time, SPs UGM is organizing research grants and community service activities based on the system that has been developed by UGM, namely SIMASTER. If UGM develops a new system, the expectation is that research and community service management will become easier, and the features will be more flexible, tailored to the needs of the Faculty/School.”
The Chief of the Digital Transformation Bureau, Dr. Mardhani Riasetiawan, SE., Ak., M.T., served as the speaker for the workshop. Over the past year, Dr. Mardhani and the team from the Digital Transformation Bureau have been entrusted with creating the concept and developing a new, more integrated research management system. Dr. Mardhani explained the business processes that will be built into the new system, so that participants could help curate what additional needs are required or which features need to be removed. Input from the workshop participants will be used as a reference by Dr. Mardhani and the team to complete the system under development.
